How to install VCDS in the PC

This cable suggests not using the internet, official software usage can often be blocked.

a. Turn off antivirus such as AVG, McAfee, etc.

b. Disable Windows Defender

c. Block vcds on the firewall (PC firewall is not turned off).

Installation Guide:

1. Install VCDS-Installer.exe Step by Step (If your system is 64-bit, you must install 32-bit to 64-bit)

2. If the installation was successful, please do not run the vcds software and delete the shortcuts for the computer desktop VCDS version.

3. Copy the CD program VCDSLoader.exe into the installation folder (C: Ross-Tech / VCDS) and create the shortcut to your desktop.

4.First time to plug cables into the PC, wait a while to run VCDSLoader.exe. Click Options to run the self-test, and then click Save Data.

5. Turn off all vcds software, plug in your car, and run VCDSLoader.exe again.

Note: If you need to unplug your antivirus, release is original software, you will need to use VCDSLoader.exe to not simply block cables.

Instructions for installing Loader V9.2 for VCDS 22.10.0:

Download VCDS 22.10.0 from official Ross-Tech!

Run VCDS-Release-22.10.0-Installer.exe

Install by following the setup wizard

1. If you're on Win 8.1/10 - select "Fix Windows HID..."

2. If you're on 64-bit Win - select "Install 32-bit EXE on 64-bit System"

3 Deselect "Create Start Menu Shortcut"

4 Deselect "Create a Desktop Shortcut"

Deselect "Run VCDS Release 22.10.0" at the end of the install!

Download Loader_v9.2.zip from the link above

Extract Loader_v9.2.zip

Navigate to Loader_v9.2

(to test or re-flash your cable - check instructions below)

Copy VCDSLoader.exe to C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS

Launch VCDS 22.10.0 only by using VCDSLoader.exe!

1 Create a shortcut on your desktop for VCDSLoader.exe

Instructions for testing & flashing your HEX-V2:

Before continuing check if the cable uses ATmega162 chip! Others are not supported

Plug in your cable into USB & CAR! (or 12V source)

Navigate to VCDSLoader_v9.2 (downloaded from the link above)

Launch VAGCOM_HWType.exe

Click "Read"

1. If your cable has the bootloader unlocked - the tool will show that it's enabled

Launch VAGCOM_EEWriteLang.exe

Select "English" (should be selected by default)

6. Click "WRITE"

You can test your cable now by keeping it plugged into your car and launching VCDSLoader.exe

Click "Options" -> Leave "USB" Selected -> "Test"

If the test was successful - Click "Save"

You should be able to connect to your car and view/code!
